Setting IP pada System Operasi Linux

pada keturunan redhat atau linux yang berbasis RPM untuk menyeting ip secara modetext
atau konsole maka kita harus mengedit file ifcfg-etho tapi sebelum kita edit kita harus tau media interfaces yang akan kita gunakan
caranya kita ketikan ifconfig pada konsole perlu diingat posisi kita harus menjaadi root,untuk menedit file ifcfg-eth0 caranya sbb:
1. ketikan
#kwrite /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 lalu tekan enter
2. setelah ifcfg-eth0 terbuka tinggal kita edit sebagai contoh:
DEVICE= eth0
BOOTPROTO= static
IPADDR=192.168.2.1
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
NETWORK=192.168.2.0
BROADCAST=192.168.2.255
ONBOOT=yes
3. simpan dan close, setelah itu kita lakukan restart network dengan mengetikan
# services network restart
4. sebagai tambahan saja, perlu kita ketahui satu persatu fungsi dari isi ifcfg-eth0 adalah :
DEVICE= menentukan atarmuka jaringan/ethernetcard atau wifi
BOOTPROTO= menentukan protocol boot untuk kartu jaringan (static atau dhcp)
IPADDR= untuk menetukan alamat IP yang kita gunakan
NETMASK= menetukan netmask
NETWORK= menentukan alamat jaringan yang kita pakai
BROADCAST= menentukan alamat broadcast
ONBOOT= menetukan apakah kartu jaringan akan diaktivkan pada saat boot

bagi para pengguna linux yang berbasis debian
khususnya ubuntu caranya tidak jauh beda jika diatas kita mengedit file yang bernama
ifcfg-eth0 maka jika pada ubuntu kita cukup mengedit file interfaces dan caranya sebagai berikut:
1. masuk konsole sebagai root ketikan
#gedit /etc/network/interfaces
2. setelah masuk pada file interfaces tinggal kita edit file interfaces sebagai contoh
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.2.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.2.1
3. simpan dan close, setelah itu kita kembali ke konsole dan restart netwok dengan cara ketikan
#sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart lalu enter
4. ada sedikit perbedaan yaitu
auto sama fungsinya dengan device
iface sama fungsinya dangan device
inet sama fungsinya dengan bootproto
